Barcelos is a land of impressive historical-patrimonial riches, presenting a vast archaeological and architectural legacy. Of splendid ethnography and considered the capital of handicraft, Barcelos managed to turn the image of the "Galo de Barcelos" ("Barcelos Rooster") into a symbol of Portuguese identity.
