“Papas de Sarrabulho” Gastronomy Festival Showing and promoting the municipality’s gastronomic heritage, as well as all the activities associated with it, are the main goals of this festival featuring the “papas de sarrabulho” and “rojões”, a traditional dish from the Minho region based on pork meats. The “papas”, usually made in winter and based on wheat bread, are associated with the slaughter of the pig and are served as a soup accompanied by Minho-style “rojões” and with a good local red wine (“vinho verde”). This event coincides with the Carnival period receiving every year thousands of visitors. |
