Village of the Arts From the events to the equipment, in V.N. Cerveira breathes culture in every turn of corner and the arts constitute themselves as the maximum exponent. As a stage of a true cultural revolution, the achievement of the pioneering and recognized International Art Biennial since 1978 gave it the title of 'Village of the Arts'. It is worth mentioning that here are two of the most important collections of Portugal open to the public. On the one hand, the S. Paio Convent houses the estate of Mestre José Rodrigues; On the other, the legacy resulting from 18 International Art Biennials that constitute the Cerveira Art Biennial Museum. But the artistic vein of the municipality is reflected in its daily life, a little everywhere, especially the Cultural Forum, the House of the Artist, the House of the Craftsman, the House of Tourism, the schools with an artistic aspect, the Galleries of art and the many sculptures that are scattered around the village. Artistic feeling has long since surpassed the physical space and the absorption of this concept is rooted in its people, having set out to win audiences across borders. The implementation of a cultural program of excellence, regular, diversified and multifaceted makes V.N. Of Cerveira a favorite destination of thousands of tourists who, throughout the year, fill their streets and leisure spaces. The invitation is launched for ‘Vi(m)ver Cerveira’ (translating in to ‘I came to see Cerveira’)! |
