Theatro Circo Projected by the Architect João Moura Coutinho and inaugurated in 1915, it is Braga’s most important early 20th century architectural work. After the restoration and remodelling work, started in 1999, it reopens in 2006, with a Main Auditorium (897 seats), experimental auditorium (204 seats), a coffee-concerto and a restaurant. The noble areas of the original building – foyer, noble hall, smoking room and galleries – were integrally restored, as well as the facades facing Av. da Liberdade and Dr. Gonçalo Sampaio street. It is definitely the city’s most spectacular theatre, with a very diverse and rich cultural agenda. |
